Hi, I own an HP 15ac125tx laptop which was bought in Nov 2015. THe configuration of the same is i5 5th gen processor, 8gb ram and AMD Raedon Graphics. I want to upgrade its memory from coventional HDD to SSD. I wanted to know if the laptop has and supports M.2 slot?

No it does not. Here is the Service Manual:
Your only storage option is for a 2.5 inch SATA disk; either HDD or SSD. So you can replace the hard drive with a SATA SSD 2.5 inches wide and 7 mm thick. Something like Samsung 860 Evo 2.5 inch model. The performance increase over a hard drive will be quite significant.

Thanks for your reply. I have another question though. The question being, the laptop came with windows 10 and a recovery drive (a separate partition on the hard disk). If i use an ssd instead of a HDD, will my windows remain genuine. Secondly, will I be able to use the recovery partition from my HDD later, if the same is still in use?

Yes you will have no problems with Windows 10 activation by resinstalling to a new storage disk (SSD). You should use the HP backup and recovery app and make a recovery usb disk for future use. If you reinstall from such a disk the recovery partition will be recreated.
