HP Notebook - 15-da0233ur
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, friends! I need your help to upgrade my hardware. I have an HP-15-da0233ur laptop with a hard drive and 4Gb RAM. I want to upgrade by installing additional SSD and RAM. But I can't find detailed information about this equipment, so I want to ask you a few questions:

1) What is the maximum capacity of RAM in my laptop?
2) What type and specifications of RAM do I have in my laptop?
3) Can I install RAM of different capacities in different slots, for example 4+8 GB or 4+16 GB?
4) Does my laptop have an M.2 port? If yes, what type of this connector (PCI-E 2.0, PCI-E 3.0 2x, PCI-E 3.0 4x, PCI-E 4.0)?
5) Does the laptop support NVMe technology?
Thank you very much in advance for your professional answers!

Hi:

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

HP 15 Laptop PC Maintenance and Service Guide

Chapter 1 has the memory and SSD upgrade info.

Since your notebook has an Intel 7th generation core processor, it can support:

2 x 8 GB of memory.

The fastest speed it will run at is 2133 MHz, and most folks install DDR4-2400 or 2666 MHz memory, which is easier to find.

You can install memory in mismatched capacities, but it will run in single channel mode.

You need to install memory in matching capacities for it to run in dual channel mode. (2 x 4 GB, 2 x 8 GB).

It has a M.2 slot that supports both SATA and NVMe SSD's.

From what we have read from other forum members is the slot is PCI-E 3.0 2x, since they report the NVMe SSD's run at half their maximum advertised speeds.  That is still about 3x faster than SATA.
