There are alternative methods to find model and serial number information.

Methods include those found in this document:

Finding your Product Name, Product Number, or Serial Number

and / or

Product number (SKU) should be available here:

Control Panel > icon view > Administrative Tools > System Information

and / or

Open a command prompt window with Admin privileges:

Windows key + X +

Type wmic commands to obtain information

Examples...

for model:

wmic computersystem get Model

for product number:

wmic computersystem get SystemSKUNumber

Both model and SKU (product number):

wmic computersystem get Model,SystemSKUNumber

for serial number:

wmic bios get serialnumber

Thanks for giving me your time; my issue however, is bit different. I know the model and serial number of my device. All the methods you referred give me this information:-

HP ProBook 4440s

Product number: ----------

Serial number: ----------

Windows 10 Home 64-bit Version: 18363.476

Whereas, the correct information of my device is:-

HP ProBook 4540s

Product number: D7xxxxx#xxF

Serial number: 2CExxxxxx8

Windows 10 Home 64-bit Version: 18363.476

How to feed correct information in BIOS and wlsewhere?

regards.

I do not have the answer to that.

I understand how vital information might be lost (replacing the motherboard, for example plays havoc with system information).'

I would guess that the upgrade to V1909 is at least partly at fault.

"Version: 18363.476"

Not sure how to test - I am still at V1903 with no plans to update yet (Zbook and drivers for my 9025 printer may not be ready yet for the jump).

Please start a new thread - ask the question again.  I may monitor but I promise not to respond.
