Backslash/Pipe Key Not Working on Keyboard

Hi All,

Have a new 'Renew' laptop. The backslash key on the laptop's keyboard is not responding. Looking online I suspect a BIOS update may be required, but this was reported for other HP laptops, not this specific model, so may be barking up the wrong tree!

Well no sooner than about 10 minutes after I posted this item I found an acceptible workaround. I downloaded SharpKeys, which allowed me to map the backslash key to a backslash. The results were then written to the registry and hey presto - a working backslash key. Job's a good 'un as they say 🙂

Thanks for that great fix. I have a new Envy and the bottom right \ key was until now useless and having to add US layout and use # instead was a real pain!

I have the same problem on Probook 450 G2 but do not have Windows installed, only Linux Mint.  Are there any options for me or am I stuck?
