I have the same issue on my 15” Spectre x360. The front base panel is bowing away from the keyboard. This is a 2017 model that just ran out of warranty in March. Is there a way to replace the base panel?

Good morning Asmita6658. After working with Patty at HP Support, On her suggestion, I discovered that the separation was being caused by a swollen Li-ion battery. After removing the base cover, with the expatiation of replacing it, it was the battery that was pushing out the casing. It was difficult to remove some of the screws due to the swelling, but I got them off. Clearly, I have to replace the battery. Too bad the Spectre is out of warranty. I’m glad the the Spectre x360 can run without a battery. Nice design feature. Had no idea that a Li-ion battery could swell up like this. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for replying Asmita. I did contact HP Support but was informed that they could not help since my 3yr warranty had expired this past March (bummer). Now what I think that I need is a replacement base. I suspect that the heat from the Spectre x360 15 causes the plastic base to warp over time. The laptop works fine as long as i have it connected in a desktop configuration: attached monitor, wireless keyboard and mouse etc... Can you help me obtain a replacement base? I've already seen online videos showing how to remove the base, so I can do that on my own.
