Hi @guanyu4u,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I understand your HP Spectre x360 is showing a Battery Check FAILED in HP Hardware Diagnostics. Let’s go through a few steps to understand what the test results mean and what you can do next.
Review the battery capacity readings
Your design capacity is 6312 mAh, but the full-charge capacity reported is 64 mAh.
This indicates the battery can no longer hold usable charge and has reached end of life.
Check individual cell voltages
The log shows Cell 1–3 around 3987–3991 mV, but Cell 4 is reading 0 mV.
A zero-volt cell means the battery pack is physically failing and cannot operate correctly.
Look at the cycle count
Cycle count is 219, which is normal and not excessive.
The failure is due to cell degradation, not overuse.
Confirm test logic from HP
The UI test result values (113, 255) indicate a health failure condition.
HP diagnostics marks this as a critical battery fault, not a calibration issue.
Try a BIOS battery recalibration only if the laptop still powers on
Let the battery drain to 0%, then recharge to 100% and rerun the test.
This won’t fix a dead cell, but it can confirm results if needed.
Avoid continued use of the damaged battery
A cell showing 0 mV can cause:
– sudden shutdowns
– overheating
– failure to charge
– swelling risk in some cases
Use the laptop plugged in until the battery is replaced
The system will still run but may show “Battery not detected” or low charge restrictions.
This prevents stress on the remaining cells.
We understand how important it is to have your device functioning properly, and we're here to assist you.
To ensure your device receives the appropriate care, we recommend visiting an authorized HP service center. Our certified technicians can provide a thorough diagnosis and offer the best solutions to address the issue.
