Battery Issues

Hello, 

For over a year now my HP laptop has not worked without the charger plugged in. If I pull the charger out the laptop will immediately die and won't turn back on unless it is plugged back in. 

More recently, when my laptop turns back on I am now receiving a brief error message stating that my batterie's storage capacity is very low.

Has anyone ever had this happen to them? I feel like the fix would be to simply purchase a new battery, however; I'm not positive where/how to purchase the correct battery for this laptop and how to determine what battery I need.

Unless you want us to guess as to what specific notebook you have, providing us with  some identification as in a product number or complete product name would be a good plan.

When logged into Windows, hold down the Windows key and tap the R key.


Type in msinfo32 and press enter.


The ninth line is the SKU and the HP product number. Kindly post it in your next reply in your thread.

Also, the exact notification is 

"HP Battery Alert

The system has detected the storage capacity of the battery stated below to be very low. for optimal performance, this battery may need to be replaced.
