My HP Spectre X360 15-CH013TX laptop developed a 'bulge' in the last few days. It literally popped the back cover of the laptop chassis. I initially thought it was just the classic 'flexing of the chassis' phenomenon after 2.5 years of hard life with me. Turns out that the battery was the culprit - it was expanding... a potential fire/burn hazard!

I will have the battery and charger replaced myself as the warranty period is already over... BUT THIS IS PROBABLY MY LAST HP LAPTOP. After the faulty keyboard replacement which I opted to do on my own after a lengthy troubleshooting process with HP Beijing Service Center with no viable results, this event drove the final nail on the coffin.

HP laptop users, beware!
