Hi there! I wanted to see if anyone else had this issue. So I purchased my HP Envy x360 laptop approximately 2 years ago this week. Overall good laptop. However, as I actively do my battery checks using HP's battery check on HP Support Assistant, it shows that my full capacity is at 58% of my original capacity, stating that my battery has already degraded 42% after 2 years! My relative also pruchased the exact same laptop. However, he purchased it exactly 1.5 years ago and his battery full capacity relative to its original capacity is 95%, with only 5% degradation. My battery for my laptop is incredibly poor as I can usually only use it for 2-4 hours at most while this laptop was and is still advertised to have a 7-8 hour battery. In addition, I purchased an extended warranty to cover this laptop, only to be notified that it covers every single part for my laptop except my battery. I truly believe that is ridculous! Other companies including Apple cover batteries and consumables with a purchased extended warranty! I also believe that I received a defective battery from the start and that I should be able to receive a new battery replacement especially if I purchased an expensive 3-year accidental coverage warranty. Can someone help me solve my issue because my laptop battery continues to get worse and worse everyday. If I knew about this battery degradation, I wouldn't have purchased this laptop.

We are volunteers, not HP employees.
I can ask a Moderator to escalate your issue.
Is the warranty coverage currently valid? What kind of extended warranty did you purchase?
Do be aware that industry wide, battery manufacturers only provide battery warranties for one year. Both Apple and Tesla, for example, use a vertical supply chain integration business model that is quite different than others.
Noytebook batteries do degrade over time, regardless of manufacturer, but dependent on the type of use owners put them through.
Owners who leave their noteboooks plugged in and don't allow a complete discharge cycle once in a while, tend to experience shorter battery life than those who do not.
There is a knowlege base article on notebook battery issues at the link below.
You might consider invoking a Battery report to see what kind of useage and capacity changes you battery has shown since the notebook was first turned on after being delivered. The report will give you some insights into your battery useage habits.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
If you are unfamiliar with how the Forum's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

Thank you for your reply. The extended warranty I had purchased is a 3-year Accidental Care Pack that will be valid until December of 2019. Also, my normal usage for my laptop is just surfing the web. I would say my heaviest usage is from YouTube especially since I experience the most battery consumption when I go on YouTube. Other than that, for the two years I have owned my laptop, I haven't used any programs or extensive applications that may degrade the battery. I also never leave my charger plugged in as I always let the laptop discharge. I did my report and from looking at my history since I purchased this laptop exactly 2 years ago, it does portray a 41% degradation of my battery, showing my battery capacity to be 59% of its original. I find it hard to believe that it is considered "normal" for a laptop battery to degrade almost half its life in exactly two years.
