I am sorry to hear that the Battery Alert with error code 601 indicates that the measured storage capacity of the primary. This issue might be due to environmental factors like low ambient temperatures or the aging of the battery pack.To address this error, follow the steps below
Update the BIOS
- Go to the HP Software and Driver Downloads page.
- Navigate to your computer's product page.
- Select BIOS from the list of available updates and download the latest version.
- Save the BIOS update file, and then double-click the file to start the installation. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update process.
- Ensure not to turn off or restart the computer until the update process completes.
Perform a Battery Test
You can perform a battery test before Windows starts using HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI:
- Disconnect the AC adapter.
- Press and hold the Power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
- Turn on the computer and immediately press the esc key repeatedly to enter the startup menu. From there, press f2 to access the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics menu.
- Select Component Tests, then choose Power, followed by Battery.
- Click Run once to begin the Battery Test. Review the results when the test is complete.
Power drain
- First shut it down and disconnect all peripherals and the AC adapter.
- Press and hold the power button for 15-30 seconds to clear residual power.
