Since the September bios update, my laptop has started warning that the battery needs calibration. I have run the UEFI automatic calibration 3x and one manual calibration and it STILL claims the battery needs calibration. What is going on here? Is this a bios malfunction? Is the battery broken? Please help.

Can you run the battery diagnostic and post the full advanced results? If the battery will not take and hold a calibration it is generally an issue with the battery itself and the full diagnostics might give us a clue as to what is going on with the battery.

I'm not going to replace a 200 Euros battery just because it's 25% down after 1.5 years. That's pretty normal. The battery passes every health check. It just doesn't calibrate. It seems like you think there's nothing wrong with it apart from the reduced capacity?
10-01-2021 02:20 PM
And it will not calibrate. The 25% down is not the only reason. 200 Euros? That is outrageous for a battery. I do agree there is no other error detected by the test itself but the failure to calibrate is a bad sign in and of itself.
