Gonna need a bit of creativity here. So, my battery ate dirt, bulged so bad it twisted the laptop chassis and it wouldn't sit flat. Had to pull it. It's not considered "removable", so disassembly was required. I've been running directly from the charger for a bit. It works okay. But, whenever I do have to unplug so the laptop can travel, I lose time settings, BIOS settings, and who knows what else, just because the memory isn't getting the tiny bit of power it needs to keep them. It is annoying. As a college student (not the 20-something-living-off-parents-kind), my funds are limited. So, I'd like to use the resources I have to provide power to my laptop while it travels between AC outlets I have multiple power banks, still have the original battery (wanted to see if it would pop-no dice), access to tools and some parts, general technical ability, and a solid understanding of what I'm capable of where electronics are concerned (probably not nearly as much as most STEM majors, but enough. anything short of nano-soldering, I think). Anyway, I want to provide my machine with "emergency power" so to speak. Life support systems only, if you follow my drift. Is this possible in any way? Use a 12000mAh power bank to supply power strictly to the memory, perhaps even be able to use the connection from the original battery?

Anyway, I figured it doesn't hurt to ask. Someone out there might love a good puzzle. Let me know if you have any ideas. Thanks.
