Hi @Kirtan842,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

I’m really sorry to hear about your frustrating experience—investing in a laptop should bring ease, not constant trouble. Let’s work together to address these concerns and improve your laptop’s performance.

  • Have you noticed if the battery drains unusually fast even after a full charge, or does the issue primarily occur during calibration attempts?
  • Are you using the laptop mostly plugged in or frequently running on battery?
  • Aside from the battery, is the lag and flickering affecting specific applications or occurring randomly during general use?

Let's try these steps.

Battery Calibration Steps:

  • Fully charge the battery to 100% and then unplug the charger.
  • Use the laptop until the battery drains completely and the laptop shuts off.
  • Plug it in again and charge it fully without interruption. Repeat this process 2-3 times to complete the calibration.

Run HP Battery Check:

  • Open HP Support Assistant and navigate to the “Battery” section.
  • Run the battery diagnostics tool to check the health and identify if calibration or replacement is required.

Update Drivers and BIOS:

  • Visit the HP support website and ensure that the laptop’s BIOS, graphics drivers, and power management software are up-to-date. This can improve battery efficiency and reduce flickering.

Check Power Settings:

  • Adjust power settings to “Battery Saver” mode in Windows to reduce power consumption.
  • Disable background apps and reduce screen brightness to extend battery life.

Address Laptop Lag and Flickering:

  • Run a full scan for malware or high-resource processes using Windows Task Manager.
  • Ensure the NVIDIA graphics card driver is updated to the latest version.
  • If flickering persists, try disabling hardware acceleration in apps like browsers or check for physical cable issues with the display.

The unit might need service if these steps don’t resolve the issues.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @Kirtan842 ,

We apologize for the inconvenience. The issue seems to persist even after attempting the troubleshooting steps mentioned above.

This might require one-on-one interaction via remote assistance to fix the issue over the phone, as this could be a hardware.
