HP Notebook - 15-da0014dx
Microsoft Windows 11

Greetings!

I have an HP Notebook - 15-da0014dx whose battery recently died. I went to purchase a replacement only to discover that my laptop's battery isn't available through HP anymore; apparently five years old is too old to still be supported by HP. I was wondering whether there's another battery on the market that would be compatible with my laptop; I'd much prefer to keep it going than buy a new computer. Also open to alternative suggestions. Thanks!

This was perfect, I installed the battery a couple weeks ago and it's performing great! I also feel confident now that if I need to replace anything else in the future, I will know how to figure out what to buy and where to find it (so glad I was wrong about my laptop no longer being supported by HP). Thank you so much for this detailed reply! 🙏

You're very welcome.

Glad to have been of assistance.

Now that you have gained valuable experience and confidence in taking the notebook apart, if you ever want to install a larger capacity drive, you can replace the 128 GB SATA M.2 SSD with a faster performing M.2 NVMe SSD with a greater storage capacity such as 500 GB.

...And bump up the memory to 16 GB by removing the 4 GB DDR4-2400 memory chip with an 8 GB DDR4 memory chip so that you have 16 GB of memory running in dual channel mode.

Crucial 8GB DDR4-2400 SODIMM | CT8G4SFS824A | Crucial.com

Right now, the memory runs in the lower performing single channel mode due to the mismatched memory capacities.
