HP Pavilion 14 inch Laptop PC 14-ec0000 (2Z8E3AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

My new device (barely a month old) drops around 5% every 24h of being completely turned off in a dark, cold environment. I dont think this is normal nor acceptable. The battery is calibrated and according to HPSA it is "normal". While i can agree that it is normal when turned on, dropping what should drop in a month in a single 24h cycle is not. Is there something i can try before doing an RMA?

Someone else had a similar problem and there were some tips given by the HP support team. You can check it out here.

Did what i could even if i didnt have some of those options (ie no adaptive brightness and no power saver profile). Lets see if in a couple of days it hasnt dropped as much battery as it previously did, but i doubt. Hopefully it wont end like in the post you linked, aka RMA just to have the same problem. Welp, better now than once warranty is over i guess.

As expected, it still dropped arund 5%/24h after the tweaks.

It is definitely a battery problem then. If you are up to it, you can purchase a better battery. That will help you out a lot.

It is brand new so warranty better cover it
