HP Pavilion Laptop PC 15-eg2000 (4U8D7AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I recently bought my first HP laptop which is a 15 inch  HP Pavilion Laptop PC 15-eg2000 (4U8D7AV). When the battery is fully charged and when unplugged it drops from 100% directly to 94% in a couple of minutes. Is this normal behavior for a HP battery?

That is actually pretty normal for a 15 or 17" laptop.

They are both power hungry beasts, especially when playing games.

There isn't really much difference between 94% and 100% in terms of storage capacity.

Check to make sure that in the Windows Power Options settings, the laptop is set to balanced, not performance.

That will help mitigate some of the current draw from the lithium ion battery.

i dont play games and it drops automatically to 94% in a couple of minutes. The battery of the laptop is set  to best energy efficiency when unplugged of the charger

That still does not change what I stated.

If you want a laptop that sips power, that is in the 13-14" screen size range.

Larger laptops are power hungry.

this is not normal that a battery drops from 100 till 94% even if they are power hunrgy ...a battery drains gradually and this isnt the case
