HP Pavlion Laptop 15-cs3xxx530
Microsoft Windows 11

My laptop is only a plug in laptop.  If I unplug it the laptop shuts down is less than 2 minutes.  I decided to open the cover and found the 3 cells have expanded to almost twice there size in the middle.  This cannot be normal.  When I try and ask the "virtual (NON) assistant" about it all I get is you are out of warranty.  So I guess HP doesn't stand behind their products very well.

True - If the computer is out of Warranty, the Virtual Agent cannot connect you to HP Support.

The agent is not true AI and cannot make judgements about your situation.

True - If the battery is expanded / bloated, the battery must be removed from the computer to prevent possible damage to other components in the computer.

We can help to the extent of providing information so you can decide how to move forward.

"Fat" Battery / Bloated Battery / Swollen Battery – Sealed / Internal Battery

  • Swollen battery might be hiding OR there might be evidence that the battery has inflated.  For example, notebook case warps or won’t close, touch-pad stops working, “odd” bulging near the keyboard.

  • If the battery is in a swollen or bloated condition, the battery must be removed from the computer and replaced.  There are no other remedies, tests, or useful options.
