HP Pavilion - 15-cs1022nl
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I have this problem with my HP Pavilion - 15-cs1022nl laptop:
When I disconnect the power cable, the pc turns off instantly as if the battery was not connected. I have started the HP troubleshooting utilities, but none of them report problems with the battery that is always over 90% charged.

Any suggestion?

TIA

Hi@Koji78, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Welcome to the HP Support Community.Apologies for all the inconvenience. Request you to follow the below troubleshooting steps

I have a few steps listed below that should help you resolve this concern:

Unplug the charge and use the laptop until the battery drains to 15%.

Turn off the laptop and turn it back on after 30mins.

Reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under device manager:

1) In the search box, type and open “Device Manager”.

2) Expand “Batteries”.

3) Right-click the "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" that is listed there.

4) Click on “Uninstall”.

5) At the prompt put a check in the box to remove the current driver

6) Shutdown the computer.

7) Remove the battery for minute and then put it back in.

😎 When the computer comes back up it should automatically find the driver.

9) Go to Device Manager.

10) Expand Batteries.

11) Right-click the "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" that is listed there.

12) Click "Search automatically for updated driver software"

Do the same thing with Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Embedded Controller.

Restart the computer and the issue should be fixed.

Hi,

thanks for the reply. I'm sorry,  I have missed some important information in the previous post.

 - The notebook doesn't start without charge connected

 - My laptop's battery isn't removable directly. You have to open the back cover and unscrew the battery from laptop's frame.

I think that charge feeds battery because  battery is always over 90% , but battery doesn't feed the notebook.

I can't follow the procedure in the solution post because  you told me to unplug the charge and use laptop util battery is drained to 15%. Actually that is impossible because if I unplug the charge laptop shutdown instantly.

I tried to uninstall and install the drivers but nothing happened.

It doesn't seem to be a windows problem, this problem must be something related to bios or hardware.

If it is an hardware problem I'd like to understand if a battery replacement will solve the problem or if some component in the motherboard is broken and so I can't do anything else.

I attach a photograph of the motherboard taken the last time I removed the back cover to clean fans. Hope it helps somehowIMG_20210131_205714.jpg

Thanks
