Hello all,
I would like to highlight a issue and the battery quality for HP ENVY laptop.
I purchased the laptop on Feb 1, 2020 with an add on warranty for 3 years of support. The total cost of around 70000 Rs ( which is equal to a Mac laptop )
The official support for 3 years ended on March 2023.
All was good until the start of 1st week of August 23. The laptop started showing battery not charging symptoms. After running the component diagnostics, I came to know that there is a logical bad cell issue( hardware failure in one of the 4 cell).
I anyways went ahead and placed an order for a battery replacement for a charge of 11000 Rs.
I can attached the picture of the diagnostics, if needed , unfortunately I dont see and attach option here
The battery is made to operate 1000 cycles in total. Mine had just done 444 cycles.
It is so unfortunate that a company like HP who charges a premium for a high end laptop has a hardware failure
in just around 444 cycle count.
I strongly feel the issue is with the quality of battery provided considering it failed with just 444 cycle counts
I expect a complete free replacement considering the premium price that was charged for the laptop. Infact I have taken another laptop for my cousin just six month back and I now regret it.
I am not sure what kind of state of affairs this is , coz personally I feel cheated by a brand name like HP.
I hereby request a full refund of the charges considering the quality of the part supplied.
Would like to wait and watch the case keenly.
Thank you.
UPDATE : THE HP TEAM REPLACED THE BATTERY.THE OLD BATTERY CONDITION :ALL THE 4 CELLS WERE PUFFED.NO FREE REPLACE MENT / NO DISCOUNT CONSIDERED.I DONT SEE BUYING OR RECOMMENDING HP LAPTOPS GOING FURTHER.THE ONLY EXPECTATION AND POINT HERE WAS THAT I DID NOT EXPECT A QUALITY BATTERTY TO FAIL WITH NOT EVEN 50% OF THE CYCLES COMPLETED.I EXPECTED A REDUCED PERFORMANCE, BUT DEFINATELY NOT A BATTERY FAILURE, AS IN THIS CASE.THE COMPANY SHOULD OWN RESPONSIBILITY CONSIDERING THE PRICE TAG THAT GETS CHARGED WITH THE SALES TEAM PUSHING QUALITY AND PREMUIM & THE REALITY IS WHAT IS MENTIONED ABOVE.
Regards,
Amay
