Hello,
I Have a 2016 HP laptop that I want to keep instead of buying latest stuff with no ports nor CD/DVD reader.
I have 2 questions here :
1/ As I bought a Windows 11 license, I hope to install it on my old laptop (apparently it is possible if I upgrade few hardware pieces). So, I just need to know which pieces need to be changed/upgrade on my old laptop and from who/where to buy these pieces at a good price.
2/ The battery doesn't work anymore, I need to buy a new one. I can't find on HP website where to buy a new battery for my old laptop. Please note that, whenever I run the hardware diagnosis from the UEFI it says "there is no batter" instead of telling "yes there is one, but it is dead". Is that normal ?
Thank you all for your help on this !

Hi:
You won't be able to upgrade the hardware components in your PC to meet Microsoft's minimum W11 hardware requirements.
If your notebook is running W10 now, you can use a workaround to do an in place upgrade from W10> W11 and not have to use the W11 product key you bought.
Watch this video which is the easiest way to upgrade from W10>W11 that I know of:

In order to help you with replacing the battery, I would need to know the full model number or product number of your notebook.

You're very welcome, Nono.
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook:
Chapter 3 has the part list.
There are two batteries that HP shows:
4-cell, 41-Whr, 2.8-Ah Li-ion battery HP part # 807957-001
3-cell, 31-Whr, 2.8-Ah Li-ion battery HP part # 807956-001
You can remove the battery probably and find out which one your notebook has--the 3 cell or the 4 cell.
HP sells the 4-cell battery, but the 3-cell battery has been discontinued by the manufacturer.
HP sells the 4-cell battery for €91.78 and you can order one at the link below.

That's pretty expensive, so my recommendation would be to do a search by either HP battery part number on Amazon or eBay and find a compatible aftermarket battery that references the HP part number.
