If your HP notebook battery is swollen, it is recommended to stop using the notebook to prevent potential damage to the hardware. Swollen batteries may affect components such as the touchpad, keyboard, and chassis, but they do not present a safety issue. Battery swelling is a result of the generation of gases during the normal degradation process of the battery cell over time.
⚠️ First Things First: Safety
- Stop using the laptop immediately if the battery is visibly swollen.
- Avoid charging it or pressing on the affected area.
- Place the laptop on a hard, flat surface away from flammable materials
