My battery light is not working. It is always off no matter what I do (drained the battery, recharged to 100%). I don't know since when it is like this, I just realised it. I bought my laptop 1 week ago. I think I installed all necessary drivers and I did all the updates. But I changed some system/BIOS settings and disabled some services to optimize my laptops performance. I wonder if it doesn't work because of that I changed something or was it like this always. I ran HP Hardware Diagnostics but it didn't find any issues (I don't know if it checks for battery light issues, I didn't see anything related to battery light after running the diagnostics.).

I had never heard of the Battery/Power LED called a light before your thread.
I do notice that is what HP calls the LED (light emitting diode) in the User manual for your laptop.
From the User Manual for your mobile workstation.
Battery light When AC power is connected:
● White: The battery charge is greater than 90 percent.
● Amber: The battery charge is from 0 to 90 percent.
● Off: The battery is not charging.
When AC power is disconnected (battery not charging):
● Blinking amber: The battery has reached a low battery
level. When the battery has reached a critical battery
level, the battery light begins blinking rapidly.
● Off: The battery is not charging.
It should light up.
If the laptop is off and you connect the power adapter to charge the laptop, does it not light up?
The Battery/Power LED is controlled by the battery charge circuit on the system board.
Replacing the system board is the only thing that is going to fix a LED not operating issue.
The diagnostic does not check for the LED operation, it is a diagnostic on its own merits.
In Windows, is charging shown as active in the systray with the battery icon?
Did you purchase it from a store or online from HP?
Consider contacting the vendor and requesting an RMA.
