Hi

My notebook suddenly topped charging and now shows "1% ,not charging", the charging status light is blinking white.  The notebook works with the AC adapaptor plugged in but shutsdown when the adaptor is disconnected. I have carried out un-install of the  APCI driver and a total power down, with no success. Have tried all the exisitng fault finding solutions I can find here with no success to date, including updating the BIOS. For clarity I have included I have included my PC details.

When I carry out the hardware test I get the following result for the batttery test, which automatically cancels itself. :

Can you help?

Hello mo1995,

Yeah... exactly what I predicted.

Failure ID RLUC3H-7R193X-MFPWLK-C0F003 translates to Failure Code 601 or Battery 1.

If you are under warranty, refer to the links for HP Support.

Otherwise, the battery needs to be replaced.

The HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-ab226na uses a 4-cell, 41-Whr, 2.8-Ah Li-ion battery with HP Spare Part number 800049-001.

You can then use the HP Spare part number(s) in the HP Parts store hereYou may also be able to find it elsewhere on the Internet.

I did find some on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Replacement-HP-800049-001-Laptop-Battery/dp/B01F6R3QB6

Kind regards,

Eddy

Hello mo1995,

Looks like the battery has failed.

Is this the HP Windows Diagnostics? If so, you can confirm the failure through HP's UEFI Diagnostics:

  1. Repeatedly press Esc upon startup
  2. Select F2 (System Diagnostics)
  3. Select the desired language
  4. Navigate to component tests
  5. Select Battery

If you are under warranty, contact HP:

Contact HP Worldwide here.

Phone HP Worldwide here.

Check warranty status here.

Find an HP Authorized Service Center near you here.

Otherwise, you need to replace the battery yourself. A specific model/product number would be appreciated. (Please do not post serial numbers on the HP Support Forum)

Information on how to find a laptop's model/product number is detailed in this HP document.

Kind regards,

Eddy

Yes, that test results were from the HP Windows Diagnostics.

The notebook model number is HP Pavilion 15-AB226NA

The HP UEFI Diagnostics returned the following failure code for the battery test:

Failure ID: RLUC3H-7R1193X-MFPWLK-C0F003
