Hi the battery of my Hp laptop 15s-eq2xxx is not longer charging. Is there any way I can just buy a new battery? What should I look for?

Hi @Reggie89,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with your HP laptop's battery. There are a few potential reasons why this could be happening. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.

  • Check the power adapter: Make sure the power adapter is plugged in properly to both the laptop and the power outlet. Sometimes loose connections can prevent charging.
  • Inspect the charging port: Ensure that there's no debris or dust blocking the charging port on your laptop. Use a can of compressed air to clean it out if necessary.
  • Try a different outlet: Sometimes the issue might be with the power outlet itself. Try plugging the adapter into a different outlet to see if that solves the problem.
  • Check the power cord: Inspect the power cord for any signs of damage such as fraying or kinks. If you notice any damage, consider getting a replacement power cord.
  • Restart your laptop: Sometimes a simple restart can resolve charging issues by refreshing the system.
  • Update drivers: Ensure that your laptop's battery and power management drivers are up to date. You can do this through the Device Manager in Windows.
  • Reset the battery: Some laptops have a reset button on the underside or side of the device specifically for the battery. Pressing this button might help reset the battery management system.
  • Check battery health: Most laptops have built-in diagnostic tools that can check the health of your battery. You can usually access these tools through the BIOS or by using HP-provided software.

Hopefully, one of these steps will help you get your laptop charging again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
