Hp omen 17-AN120NR
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

CMOS error on start up. Saying battery not detected. Original  Battery died, laptop will not power on. Bought new hp charger. Did not fix,  laptop won’t power on. Bought new ac/ plug adapter going into laptop. Did not fix , laptop will not power on. Bought new battery. Laptop powered on still showing cmos error and battery not detected. Battery ran dead. Laptop will no longer power on. Laptop will not power on when battery removed and just using ac adapter.  I have tried resetting bios using windows key , B key and power button.
now since the new battery is dead I can’t power on laptop to do anything. Laptop is 2years old and expensive. I’m about to throw it in the garbage. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

@Spacewrangler40

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Are you able to boot the system only with the Ac adapter? If yes then follow the below steps

1. Go to Start, search for Device Manager, and open this result.

2. Expand batteries.

3. Right-click on the ACPI option (usually the 2nd option) and select delete or uninstall. Follow the prompts.

4. Shut down the computer.

5. Disconnect the charger.

6. Remove the battery.

7. Hold down the power button for 1 minute.

8. Insert the battery only.

9. Attempt to turn the battery on.

  • If possible, try an alternate charger.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
