The only thing I can tell you is that if you click on the HP Partsurfer link I posted and click to expand the list of notebooks that the 917724-856 part number is used in, it does show many different model notebooks including the  ZBook 15v G5 so in theory it should work.

 

Since this is is a peer to peer forum, and we don't work for or represent HP, my advice to you would be to contact HP support and get confirmation because I am not 100% sure it will work--especially when you post you are cautious about trusting people.
