Hi, I am facing an issue with the battery charging of my HP Pavilion 15-CS2082TX since yesterday night. See below sequence of actions:
1. I had almost finished my work and the battery low message popped up since the battery had drained to 15%. I turned off my laptop and took it to the charging point. However, I noticed that the battery white light is continuously blinking even though the laptop was turned off.
2. Since the white light had never blinked before, I felt something is wrong and put the laptop on AC power for charging for some time to check whether the blinking light stabilizes. However, even after 5 mins, it was still blinking.
3. I pressed the power button to power on the laptop, and it did power on without any issues. The battery logo was showing as plugged in.
4. I shut down the laptop again and kept it connected to AC power for charging the batteries overnight.
5. Today morning, the light was still blinking. I turned on the laptop and observed that the battery had not charged. It was at 19% only. I guess that 4% was charged while I had turned on the laptop before leaving it on charging overnight.
6. I kept the laptop turned on and connected to the AC power. The battery got charged 100% within 1.5 hours.
To summarize from the above experience, following are the issues:
a. the battery white light keeps on blinking irrespective of whether the laptop is turned on or off, or whether it is connected to AC power or not,
b. the battery does not get charged when the laptop is turned off, and only charges while the laptop is turned on.
I tried searching this issue in the forums but couldn't find a similar issue. Some suggested procedures where the battery needs to be removed and re-inserted, however my battery is not removable. Please let me know if someone has the solution without battery removal.

Thank you for the assistance. However, I had already checked whether my laptop and BIOS are updated through HP Assistant. I always ensure it is updated. Hence, this issue certainly doesn't appear to be software or driver related. As mentioned in my earlier post, the issue has stopped automatically without doing absolutely anything. No windows update or no driver update through HP Assistant. This issue appears to be related to hardware. Thanks again and appreciate your suggestions.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:
- 1. Go to Start, search for Device Manager, and open this result.
- 2. Expand batteries.
- 3. Right-click on the ACPI option (usually the 2nd option) and select delete or uninstall. Follow the prompts.
- 4. Shut down the computer.
- 5. Disconnect the charger.
- 6. Remove the battery.
- 7. Hold down the power button for 1 minute.
- 8. Insert the battery only.
- 9. Attempt to turn the battery on.

Thank you for the assistance. However, as mentioned in my original post, my laptop doesn't have an external battery that can be easily removed. Please let me know if there are any steps that can be performed without removing the batteries.
I would also like to highlight here that day before yesterday, the battery white light blinking stopped automatically without me doing anything. Not even an update (Windows, HP, etc.). Also, the battery is now charging when laptop is in OFF condition. After the issue got resolved automatically, I have successfully tried to charge and discharge my batteries. However, there was a one-off case yesterday wherein my battery was at approx. 30% and the laptop forced itself to shutdown. It simply wouldn't start. So, I plugged it to AC power supply and I could turn on the laptop. Once I booted into the OS, I observed that the battery logo in the task bar was showing 0%. It's shocking how the battery could go from 30% to 0% within a few minutes.
I am not sure what caused the blinking issue for such a brief period of 4-5 days or what caused the laptop to shutdown suddenly at 30% and then show the battery level as 0%. Do you suspect that any of my laptop hardware or battery is failing?

Let's perform Windows Update and HP Support Assistant: (do not skip any troubleshooting steps if you feel steps are repeating)
To check for updates now, select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and select Check for updates.
Install updates from HP Support Assistant: Go to Download HP Support Assistant to install the tool.
- To open HP Support Assistant, double-click the HP Support Assistant icon

- Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
- Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
- Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
- Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
- Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.
