The HP Support Assistant suggested that I run a calibration on the battery. I ran the calibration process using the HP Hardware Diagnostics Window software and that the logic status was unknown and the charge status was unknown. Then the test is cancelled.

This issue was resolved with the help of HP Whatsapp support. The solution was to do a manual calibration. This consisted of:
* Ensuring the battery was fully charged.
* Powering down the laptop and removing the power supply.
* Turn the laptop on and then immediately tap the F2 key repeatedly, about once every second until the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI menu displays.
* Select "Component test" then "memory", then "extensive test and then "Loop until error".
* Let the test continue until the battery is completely discharged and the computer shuts down. This took only an hour. Gaming laptop battery are only really useful as a UPS!!!
* Leave the laptop powered off for a further 6 hours.
* Fully charge the laptop and then keep it on full charge for a further 2 hours before using the laptop.
* Run the battery test in HP Support Assistant and confirm that the battery status is "OK".

Need the exact model number of the laptop but on many of the Omens the battery is considered customer accessible and replaceable. Unless it is I do not advise opening it to wiggle the battery as there is really no way for the battery to come loose. Odds are good you need a new battery. My guess is the SMART chip is corrupted.

Here is the Service Manual:
While you can remove the back and replace memory and storage and wi-fi as a customer, the battery is considered a HP only service item. I cannot advise you to mess with the battery on a 3-month old laptop. 1. I think it would not fix anything; and 2. it puts the warranty in jeopardy. Having said that, the odds anyone would even notice if you just check that the connector is seated tightly, without actually unplugging it, are nil. Pretty sure it will be. Good luck.
