HP ENVY Notebook 15t-as000 CTO (ENERGY STAR)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After about a year my battery will no longer charge past about 80%.  The battery is integrated into the machine and I cannot remove it.  Please assist.

It can be removed but we will get to that later. First you need to test it. 2 ways to do that. 1. IN UEFI diagnostics (tap esc as you power up then F2 and look for battery test; or, 2. In HP Support Assistant. Look for your device, troubleshooting and battery test. Run it and get to the advanced results and please post all the advanced results or a screenshot.

Thanks. The battery is not sick so we have some kind of other problem going on.

Try running it down to about 15% then recharge, do it 2 or 3 times and see if it can get up above 81%

For reasons that confuse me profoundly, the battery now charges to 100% after running the diagnostic, even though it hasn't been above 82% in months.  Thank you for your help!

That was easier than I expected. Glad it worked

Hi, I have the same problem with the exact same product. I tried the steps you suggested but it won't charge beyond 82-85%. The charging light turns white and when I disconnect and connect the charger again, it charges for 50-60 seconds and again turns to white and shows 85% (plugged in, not charging). Please help me out.

I would like to add that the solution was only temporary and the problem has now deteriorated into the 70% range. I've been meaning to come back and ask again.
