My laptop hp Y8J18PA . The battery is totally dead. It doesn't even start and when I plug in the charger, it's when it starts. It doesn't charge .

 

What to do ?

Your model is 15-ba022ax.

 

Most likely, you need to replace the battery with a new one. According to HP parts list, your battery's part number is #807957-001 (Description: Battery pack - 4-cell lithium-ion (Li-Ion), 2.8Ah, 41Wh).

You can do a search using the battery part number on online vendors such as eBay, Amazon and Newegg for aftermarket replacement batteries.
