Hello Community

Jogi here.

I have a little challenge finding the best appropriate hard drive for my system and it would be cool, if we can find a solution.

System: Win10 x64, i5-7200u, 16 GB RAM 2400T (2133Mhz max.), PCIe 3.0 x4, NVMe 1.4, M2.SSD, , Motherboard name:  HP81AD

Actually, I use the standard PCIe nvme m2.ssd for my laptop model. It's a P951 NVMe SAMSUNG MZVLV256 from 10/2016.

But I tried to get a faster hard drive and purchased a Western Digital SN570:

NameSAMSUNG MZVLV256 SN570
Size238GB 500GB
PCIe3.0 x43.0 x4
NVMe1.0/1.11.4
Sec-Reading up to1200 Mbit/s3500 Mbit/s
Sec-Writing up to600 Mbit/s2300 Mbit/s
  • FOR THE SN570 according to the manufacturer's website and the info pdf SN 570

The result disappointed me a little bit, because I saw Screenshots of customers with much better testing results.

Thats why I ask for any opinion and advices - and have some questions, e.g.:

  • Is there a more appropriate 500GB hard drive for my Laptop?
  • Which max. speed can my motherboard and its m2. pcie connector realize? I hoped getting a hard drive which reads with a speed over 2000 Mbit/s. Is there a hard drive for my system which can realize this?
  • Does have more/less RAM an impact on writing and reading?

Sincerely

Jogi
