The fastest port you have is USB 3.0. So that would be the port to use for a dock. Actually there is no way to have a "dock". A dock powers the laptop. There is no such classic docking station available. You have to use what is a called a USB 3.0 port replicator. You have to use the laptop AC adapter plus a port replicator. They do make USB 3.0 port replicators with 2 video links to add 2 more monitors in addition to the laptop screen. However screens attached to a USB 3.0 dock have pretty slow response time. Barely good enough for streaming video, not good for games, adequate for office and internet.

Depends on the model. HP Pavilions go back to the '90s. What is it you want to connect to the dock and what exact model is the laptop?

Hi,

Intel Core i7-6700HQ 2.6GHz Processor. 16 G RAM.

I just need 2 screens and 2 additional USB ports.

That is still not a model number. The critical thing is the ports you have available for connecting a dock and that varies by model.

Thanks a lot for your help, here the full info:

Product name:HP Pavilion Notebook. Product number:W7D99UA#ABL
Serial number:[removed]. Software build ID:16WW2DST602#SABL#DABL
Motherboard ID:820D. Feature byte:6b7K7M7WaBapaqasauawbhbmbpbzcbdUdXdpdq.fG
OS version:ML. Service ID:20160822
BIOS:F.08-07/04/2016. Keyboard revision:82.26
Total memory:16.00 GB. Processor name:Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz.

Basically it has the following ports: 3 usb, 1 HDML,  and 1 RJ45 (not so sure about this one), nothing else.

I'm looking to install 2 screens and 1 additional usb port.
