Hi
I would like someone to advise me (recomende) which SSD hardisk (240-250 GB) best fits a HP EliteBook 8730w.
Is there any ting in de bios options to be aware of?
I have a HDD 240 GB. Can I use the sistem image (Windows 10 uses Windows 7 to do it) I have in an extern USB media to clone the ny SSD?
Thank you for yor time
Fernando

Hi, Fernando:
Yes, I did...I posted above...It works just fine without doing a thing.
That means, I made no changes in the BIOS or anything.
All I did was take out the old mechanical hard drive, and install the SSD in its place, and instaledl the operating system.
The drive controller setting in the BIOS of my PC is on AHCI (which should be the default setting).

Paul

Hi:
The only part of your question I can answer is about the SSD...
I installed an Intel 535 240 GB SATA III (6.0 GBPS) SSD in my 6930p notebook, which is basically the same model as yours, except it has the 14.1" screen and the Radeon HD 3450 graphics.

It works just fine without doing a thing. My notebook is running W10.
Of course the drive will only run at the SATA II (3.0 GBPS) speed
I clean installed W10. I did not clone the old HDD to the SSD, which is why I can't answer your question regarding cloning the HDD.
