HP 15-bs020wm
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a HP 15-bs020wm.

I just want enough to open apps like facebook without lag. Not to render or anything like that. I  just want enough to stream movies and quick startup so i can jump on the browser immediatley. Yes, I've done everything in a lot of forumns I read about startup programs, turn off animations, bloatware, etc. It stilll doesn't work for me.

I don't know if i should upgrade the RAM or the HDD because I don't know if upgrading the RAM is just enough to do the stuff I want without lagging. If an 8 gig RAM isnt enough, should i go with a 16 gig or just forget about it and upgrade to a ssd instead? I don't care about memory of SSD I have a lot of external hdds.

Also, can I cheap out on these kind of stuff, instead of going for the samsung can i go for something like a Silicon Power SSD? It will be perfect for me financial wise if the RAM upgrade is just enough.

Thank you in advance, Fred Ascencio

Hi:

Pretty good reviews on that Silicon Power SSD...

I just bought this one last week...Very happy with it.

If you already have 8 GB of memory, I would go for the SSD upgrade first before adding additional memory.

That slow-poke 5,400 RPM spinner is slowing down the works.

The processor your notebook has is entry level and that is also a contributor to the lousy performance.

There's nothing you can do about that.
