My laptop is a compaq. I have had it for the past 3 years. The battery is overworked. I hibernate and not really shut it down. Or It's always on.
Today it died out on me since I also saw a notice telling me to replace battery.

I have removed the battery and I am only using the power supply. But still nothing. Please help

Hi @Stompt,

Thank you for your query!

I understand that your battery has died and you have removed it. Now you are unable to start your notebook.  Some notebooks are designed on startup to check for the battery. If it does not find one, then it will power off.  If you reinstall the dead battery, are you able to start your notebook?  If this should not be the case, what happens when you attempt to power on the notebook?

As you will need a replacement battery, here is a link to Find the right battery or adapter for your laptop. Should you require assistance to find your precise model here is a link to HP Notebook PCs - How Do I Find My Model Number, Serial Number or Product Number?.

Please let me know the outcome.

I opened it up after making a soft diagnostics test.
