Hi everyone, could someone please provide me with the BIOS file for an HP 15-ay012nf DV5000 notebook, motherboard LA-3181 V 1.0?

Hi:

Your asking for two different model notebook BIOS files.

HP 15-ay012nf has an Intel processor and a HP dv5000 is a very old model notebook that could have either an Intel or AMD processor.

Please specify exactly what notebook you need a BIOS file for.

Posting the product number for the notebook would also be helpful.

Below are the info and exe file links to the last BIOS update HP released for the dv5000 notebooks with AMD processors (F.54):

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp35001-35500/sp35204.html

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp35001-35500/sp35204.exe

The BIOS updates for those old notebooks can only be run in Windows.

You can use the free 7-Zip file utility to extract the exe file into its folder and then run it again to extract the BIOS files and see what's in there but I have no idea what to do with those files if anything.

The BIOS was corrupted; the only solution is to reprogram it.

As I wrote earlier you can explore the files inside the exe file and see if anything can be done with those files to re-flash the BIOS

Otherwise, nothing can be done.

The notebook is 19 years old

I think it's time to part with your old friend.
