Hello all,
i’ve bought a kit of 2x32 gb ram bank (64 total) from Kingston for my HP zBook Firefly 14 G9 notebook, but after the install when i turn on my pc the monitor wont turn on and the fan goes at max speed and the orange led on f5 and f8 keys stay on for a minute before shutting down.
what could be the issue?
the ram are KCP548SD8K2-64 and are compatibile with the system.
also using one dimm at time same issue.
thanks

I've found the same problem with a Firefly 16 G9.
I've tried Kingston KCP548SD8 module, a Crucial CT32G48C40S5 and another one, all claiming to be compatible, but every time one's tried either in conjunction with the Samsung M425R4GA3BB0-CQKOL module it came with or on their own, I also get the F5 & F8, 2x orange lights followed by a fan at max speed.
$600 later, still running on 32GB RAM.
If I find a solution, I will share. I am currently onto HP direct about it. Good luck!

Many thanks DaniMarfo,
Unfortunately I had already got the system to that stage.
In the end, it was a mere waiting game, giving the system 5-6 minutes with the fan running at full speed and nothing on the screen, until it eventually presented me with a change in memory detected where I had to hit enter to accept and the system rebooted and has been functioning perfectly ever since.
Thanks again for your time / effort. 🙂

@Computone, thank you for taking the time to post your experience!
I installed two new 32GB RAM modules (64GB in total) and my ZBook Studio 16-inch G9 "cooked" like this for 20+ minutes! No video, and maximum fan action.
It seems that the BIOS checksums all the memory, so the time in this limbo state with no video output scales with the amount of memory installed.
I panicked after the first 5 minutes and thought I had fried a component, shut it all down, and started testing components individually. When I saw your post, my heart rate returned to somewhat normal, and I waited it out, and was eventually presented with the message indicating that the amount of memory installed had changed.
Thanks again!!!
