My laptop is 14s-dq2000.

 

I was checking my laptop and pressing lightly on about above of the USB slot, and it got the black screen and noise(not the beeing, like rattle or crack) until I turned off.

 

Is that RAM on some promble? Hope there's no some power problems. Can I get component diagram form my laptop's specification please.

  • Flexing the chassis near the USB port may have disturbed a nearby internal connector—such as the display cable, fan header, or even the motherboard itself.
  • The noise you heard (not a beep, but a rattle or crack) could be:
    • A fan briefly struggling or misaligned.
    • A loose screw or component shifting under pressure.
  • RAM issues typically cause boot failure or blue screens—not sudden blackouts from light pressure.

 

What You Can Do

1. Run a Hardware Diagnostic

Use HP’s built-in tool to check for hardware faults:

  • Power off your laptop.
  • Press the power button and immediately tap Esc repeatedly.
  • Press F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI.
  • Run the System Test and Component Tests (especially for memory and fan).

2. Inspect for Loose Connections

If you're comfortable opening the bottom panel:

  • Power off and unplug the laptop.
  • Remove the bottom cover carefully.
  • Check the USB board, fan, and display cable for secure seating.

If not, a technician can help inspect without risking damage.

 

3. Monitor for Recurrence

  • If the laptop boots normally and the issue doesn’t repeat, it may have been a one-time flex or contact issue.
