HP Pavilion Laptop 15-cs0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I bought this laptop in January, and while it runs great, I recently encountered a problem with the screen. One day, after opening the laptop, I noticed that the black plastic surrounding the screen was becoming detached from the screen itself on the left side. After closing the laptop, I noticed that it was also becoming detached from the metal backing! Now, I'm scared to close the laptop, because when I reopen it, it makes a loud crunching sound and the frame looks like it will bend until it snaps.

After some quick googling, I was shocked to see that this seems to be a recurring problem with HP laptops. I am deeply saddened that I spent $900 on this laptop, only for it to break after less than a year! It's never been dropped or wet or treated harshly-- I haven't even owned it long enough for something like that to happen! It is always either open or closed on my lap or my desk, or in a protected laptop bag. Is there any way I can fix this myself or contact someone who can? Will it cost me even more money because my warranty is up? I'm a student and this may not be feasible.
