Hi Guys,
I have Pavlion DM1-4020sa, when I switch it on, a permanent blank-white screen appears.
Test Done:
1- The laptop works OK (boots to BIOS) on an external monitor.
2- The LCD itself works OK also on a nother notebook.
3- Hard reset: Done with no hope
From the tests above, should I exclud any motherboard and/or graphics problem but it could be just the cable from the mother board to the screen? Unfortunately, I cannot check the cable as I don't have another notebook that comes with the same cable.
How to send this for repair to HP?
Many thanks

I grasp that when you start your notebook the display remains blank. When you connect an external display you can access the bios. You have also tried the display itself on another computer and it also works. A hard reset did not change anything.
You asked if it could be the cable, yes it could be a bad cable. You have been unable to locate a replacement to try. You would like to contact HP Support for service options.

If you are still unable to find the part, you can try doing a web search with the part number.
