Hi, So I bought this laptop back a few years ago and stopped using it within I'd guess about 7 months of purchase due to the battery swelling up so much so that my touchpad stopped working (cant click it, tracks fine).  Anyways I was digging through old spam folder from yesteryear and found that there was a recall on these specific issues. The links in the email are dead so I was wondering if anyone had info on how to get the battery replacement from HP

Hi @xmetrix ,

 

I believe you may have waited too long. I would have used my warranty as soon as the issue happened. The manufacturer warranty is for one year and from your writing it is far beyond that.

 

If you can supply the complete product name or product number from the bottom of the notebook or the system information dialogue, I can ask a representative of HP directly for you.
