HP Pavilion 15-n267ca TouchSmart Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 11

I recently bought a Broadcom BCM4352HMB Wifi + Bluetooth 4.0 combo card for an HP Pavilion 15-n267ca, and I installed it on the laptop after removing the old wifi and bluetooth drivers as well as the old Ralink Wifi + Bluetooth card. When I turned the computer on, a wifi driver was automatically installed for this device but not the bluetooth driver. I tried installing the bluetooth driver manually, which I received from someone else on this forum, and although the installation wizard said the installation was complete, I did not see it in the Device Manager. When I clicked on View and Show hidden devices, this is what I saw:

When I right-clicked the Bluetooth Controller, selected Upgrade driver and search this computer manually, I couldn't see the driver that I had downloaded for this device. Does anyone know what I can do to get Bluetooth working on this computer?

There is no W11 BT driver for that model card, but the W10 driver should work:

H i Paul, that is the driver that I downloaded, which is the one you recommended to me a few months ago. I installed the driver and the installation wizard says the installation was successful, but I don't see the bluetooth driver in the device manager and I can't turn bluetooth on. Do you know what I can do to get bluetooth working on this computer?

Hi:

Yes, I am very surprised that if that was the driver you installed, that it didn't work.

First of all, W11 should have automatically installed the driver via Windows update.

Second of all, there should have been a Bluetooth device manager category show up in the device manager even without the driver installed, so something went awry with the installation.

Please post the hardware ID for the unknown Bluetooth Controller.

Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID for a device:

OK, there's the problem.

That is the Ralink Bluetooth adapter blocking the installation of the Broadcom Bluetooth adapter.

Right click on that device and select uUninstall.

Also check the uninstall driver box, restart the PC and see if Windows installs the Broadcom Bluetooth adapter.

I uninstalled the Ralink bluetooth device, but there was no option to uninstall the driver. I restarted the computer and tried to install the broadcom driver again but it still doesn't appear in Device Manager

I recommend that you clean install W11 using Rufus to make a bootable USB installation flash drive.

Watch this video if you are not familiar with the process.

Hi Paul, I did a clean install of Windows 11 with Rufus on a bootable USB flash drive, and when I checked Device Manager there was an unknown device listed under Other Devices. When I installed the Broadcom Bluetooth driver, that unknown device disappeared but I couldn’t find the Bluetooth driver

That is very strange.

So, after installing the driver, there is no Bluetooth device manager category?

The only thing it could be is for some crazy reason your PC's BIOS is blocking the Bluetooth from working.

I was able to find the service manual on ManualOwl because none of the links to the service manual I could find from HP are working. I keep getting a 'Bad request' error.

This is the list of HP Wi-Fi cards and part numbers in the manual:

WLAN module:
Ralink RT3290LE 802.11 bgn 1×1 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 combo adapter 690020-001
Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 802.11 bgn Wi-Fi adapter 675794-001
Realtek RTL8188EE 802.11bgn Wi-Fi Adapter for use on all computer models 709848-001
Intel Wireless-N 7260BN 802.11 bgn 2x2 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.0 combo adaptor for use with computer models with Intel processors, not supported on Ubuntu Linux 717384-001
Qualcomm Atheros QCA9565 802.11 bgn 1x1 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.0 combo 733476-001

The Broadcom card is not listed as supported.
