Apparently, my laptop* does not include bluetooth capabilities. Although, I 'm only 99% sure of that bc I did not see it listed in the product specifications. So, I am wondering if there are any available options for me other than just buying a new laptop.
Is Bluetooth just a software program with drivers that can be downloaded and installed? Or is there a hardware component that is also required? If so, is it possible to add the missing component? And, if yes, is that an easy task, like adding more memory into an empty slot? Or, does it require the knowledge and skill of a computer expert?
Thank you in advance for any information, advice or help for me and this situation.

You have to swap out the wifi card to a combo version.
Manual here See page 43 for replacement procedure.
I bought this. Works great with dual-band AC wifi and bluetooth. You should be able to find it on amazon.com too. Just make sure you get the one with Mini PCIe Half card (HMW) version, not the NGW version. See picture for the interface slot. And you want dual-antenna too.
Download Intel Driver Support Assistant to get bluetooth driver as well as updated wifi driver.

Hi,
You have a couple of options. You can get a Bluetooth USB dongle for a few $
Example:
or you can buy a new WLAN module and replace in the notebook. You can see that some model in that series came with
Ralink RT3290LE 802.11 b/g/n 1x1 WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 Combo Adapter part number 690020-001
on page 43 of the service manual. So you could insert such a module, boot the PC and the Bluetooth should automatically install the required drivers.
Example:
https://www.amazon.com/s?k=690020-001&ref=nb_sb_noss_2
Service manual:

Hope it helps,
David
