Good day
For about a month now, both my bluetooth device and drivers disappeard from my laptop. I managed to install the drivers again through your webiste (Ralink Bluetooth Software Driver) although I am not sure if it is the correct driver, and now I can see it in the Device Manager, and it says the device is working properly.
However, the bluetooth is still gone from the Hardware and Sound, from the notifications icons etc. When I try to transfer files, it says that the device is unplugged.
I have tried to fix it via Bluetooth Support Service and Bluetooth Settings but nothing....
I also used HP Support Solutions Framework, it says Network Module is not installed (if that is relevant, I don't know).
Help!
Regards,
Taxia

Hi TaxiaM,
Thank you for replying. I was not aware that the wifi card on your notebook was replaced. That clearly explains why Bluetooth settings are not found on your computer anymore and have gone missing. The original Wifi adapter shipped out by HP was a combo card which included the wifi and Bluetooth chips.
It is clear as daylight now that the replaced Wifi adapter is not a combo one and is only a standalone wifi card. If it is a combo card like the original one, then you need to get in touch with your IT person to get the correct drivers for the card.(both for wifi and Bluetooth).

Hi @TaxiaM,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums. It is a great site for information and questions. I have read your post about the Bluetooth module not working for about a month now. I am happy to help you with this issue!
Please perform a hard reset first.
. Steps to do it:
- Power down the computer and unplug the charger. Then remove the battery.
- Hold down the power button of the unit for 15 seconds to discharge static electrical charges inside the machine.
- Replace the battery and reconnect the charger.
Please visit this link to perform a system restore. Link HP PCs - Reset the computer | HP® Support
Please perform the step “Restore your computer when Windows starts normally” from the link. Please make sure to restore your computer before the issue cropped up.
Let me know how this goes!
To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to appreciate my efforts. If this resolves the issue, Please mark this as “Accepted as Solution”. If you require further assistance let me know and I will gladly do all I can to help.
Thanks and have a blessed week ahead!

Thank you very much for your reply @DavidSMP!
I just did the static discharge.
To be honest I am a bit afraid to do system restore. Because before the bluetooth disappeared, I had the same problem with the wifi adaptor. Back then I tried everything, including system restore, and it didn't fix the problem. At the end I gave my laptop to an IT guy, where he removed the adaptor totally and put in a new one - the actual hardware. A day after that, the bluetooth gave up! I asked the It guy if he had touched it and said no, as the bluetooth is in a different area in the laptop (he said...).
So I am afraid that if I do a restore now 1) it will not fix the problem, just like the wifi adaptor, 2) it might mess with the wifi adaptor again, that it is fixed now.
Regards,
Taxia

**bleep**! I knew he had done something wrong, but he denied it! There is not much I can do I guess, cause this happened when I was on holiday in another country so I cannot reach him.
I guess I will have to get a bluetooth usb stick...
Thank you for your help!
Have nice day

Hi @TaxiaM,
