Zbook Studio G5
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

for my study I am able to purchase a Zbook Studio G5 with a large discount. This specific model comes without a regular hard drive, but with an empty 2.5" bay to install one, which is what I am planning to do. My question is whether I would need to purchase an additional bracket to install a hard drive, or if one is already built into the laptop.

Thanks in advance

Look at page 26. There are different kits for touch and non-touch models so I believe you only need one kit and then the cable. I only have my phone right now so next time I get to a PC I will see if the parts are available in the Netherlands. You might be better off with a second M.2 depending on which battery you have. My recall is if you have the big 6 cell battery storage options are limited.

Here is the Service Manual:

Manual

See p. 19-20 and 43. You need this:

(22)
Hard drive cable
L28668-001 (Cable Kit)

And this:

Hard drive brackets
L28674-001 (Bracket Kit)
L33681-001 (Hard Drive
Hardware Kit)

Where are you located (country) and maybe we can help you find these?

Post back with any more questions but please accept as solution if its the info you needed.

Thank you for your answer. If I understand correctly, I will need to purchase the cable kit, the bracket kit, and the hard drive hardware kit? Or does the hardware kit include a bracket and cable?
I am located in the Netherlands.
Again thanks in advance

Hi Jelle, I am in the same situation as you. Did you manage to find the spare parts?
