(For some reason my last question was deleted perhaps by accident on my part or I don’t know) Edit: For some reason, the forums were not showing my last post to me and the link in my email did not work so i double posted, i apologize for the inconvenience.
Hello,
Today, I was playing a game as usual on my computer and I noticed a bit lower performance. So, I hit my windows key and saw that I was on battery power. I had my cord plugged in and I double check all of the parts to make sure they were in fact connected; they were. Concerned, I unplugged my cord from both ends and plugged it back in. While I did that, a spark came out from my wall socket's end. I pulled it back out and put it back in. Then, I reconnected all the parts of the cord and plugged it into my notebook. It still did not show it was charging. So, I tried plugging my cord into another socket across the room and it did the same thing. The power was not reaching my laptop. Then, I took a can of compressed air and cleaned both the brick's socket part and notebook's power port. Then, I took the portion that connects to the wall and plugged it in alone. Then, I took the brick and connected it, but during this connection, an audible popping sound came from the brick and the cord. I unplugged it and then redid that. Then I plugged it into my notebook and it still did not charge. Concerned it was a system issue, I took my brothers cord, his laptop is the HP Pavilion x360 m3 Convertible, and connected it to mine. My computer showed it was charging and the light next to the port glowed. So, I took the part that connects to the wall from my own computer and my brothers brick portion and connected them which did charge my computer. So is my brick portion broken and need to be replaced or what’s going on?

It certainly sounds like it needs to be replaced- especially with the popping, etc. If you are still in warranty contact HP for a replacement.
