Hi,
My brightness controls (f2 and f3) are not working. All the other function keys do what they are designed to do, its just the brightness keys.
Action keys are disabled in the bios. I am trying fn + f2, also just pressing f2. But nothing works. Same with f3.
BIOS version is F.18 and I have installed the hotkey driver and collaboration keyboard driver as advised in a related forum post.
I have ran the diagnostics tool from HP and it does show those f keys are registering as pressed.
Can anyone recommend anything else I can try?

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I reviewed your post and I understand that the brightness keys are not working on the computer.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
I recommend you download and install the system event utility driver from the below link and check if it helps.
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp91501-92000/sp91504.exe
If you continue facing the issue, then follow the below steps.
- Open Start Menu > Type Device Manager and open it.
- Find Display Adapters in the list. Click on it to expand and right-click on the relevant display driver.
- Select Update Driver Software from the menu to fix the Windows 10 brightness control not working issue.
- Now, your PC will use your internet connection to download the drivers that are necessary for proper functionality.
- You will see the driver is installed automatically and a message that Windows has successfully updated your driver software message along with the details of the hardware.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
