Pavalion 14 ce1001tx
Linux

I bought pavallion 14 ce1001tx 9 months back, so I still have 3 months of warranty and 2 years of extended warrarnty. About 15 days back, my laptop had issue with the hinge, its lid wasn't opening and closing properly. I was going to contact hp but a day later I noticed the covering around screen from  bottom right corner is also coming off because of damage due to malfunctioning hinge. I contacted hp customer care and also went to service center where they told me that  it won't be covered  under warranty and sent me a quotation of INR 12000.They also told me that if it was just the hinge , it would have been covered in warranty but now because screen protection is damaged ( which is because of hinge), it will not be covered under warranty. This laptop have never been damaged or used improperly. There's not a single scratch or dent on laptpp. Even after just regular usage for college purpose for 9 months, I'll have to pay INR 12000 if I want it repaired.I also noticed after searching on internet that this is a very common problem and many customers have faced similar issues   with the hinge. So this clearly is a manufacturing problem. Hp is neither fixing this problem nor covering it under warranty ( I still don't know the reasons for not being covered in warranty ). This is unacceptable.
