I have seen a lot of other issues online with these HP laptops being broken at the hinge. I don't know where to get help to get this fixed but there have never been issues with the laptop until now. This randomly happened the other day when I opened my laptop up and the screw broke and now the laptop will not shut properly. I have had this laptop for more than 2 years now and I believe the warranty has expired. I have not had any misuse to this laptop and has been in perfect condition until now. How can I get this fixed with no cost because this is just pretty upsetting? I am also a college student and absolutely need this laptop and cannot afford to buy a new one at this moment and would prefer not to anyways since this laptop was already perfect before this issue.

Hello,
I actually did that last week. I went into the nearest Best Buy and they let me know the repair would be anywhere from $300 to $600. Will HP cover this service done on the laptop? Once again, this laptop has not been misused and this unexpectedly happened when I opened my laptop one day to study. Best Buy told me if I have to pay this much, I might as well get a new laptop. For me this is unreasonable as I am a college student and cannot afford this. Also, other than this issue, the laptop is in perfect condition so I would not look to get a new one. Thanks!
