HP's community is l ittered with complaints regarding broken hinges on their lap tops. This has been a problem for years and yet they seem to refuse to make design changes to make them stronger. When I inquired regarding a warranty repair they seemed to use the opportunity to sell me waht they called a three year warranty, which also included my current warranty period, so actually a 2 year warranty. I bit the bullet and sent it in for repair, and it took 5 more days than promised. That is inconvenient but not unforgivable, What is unforgiveable is it was returned without my back-lit keyboard. How does that happen? You just lose it on the counter? Now here we go again.....probably another 2 weeks without my computer and no compensation from HP !

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.
